Beach of Nieuwvliet
Nieuwvliet beach is one of the most beautiful and cleanest beaches in the Netherlands. Sheltered by dunes and dikes, you can spend hours swimming, surfing, paragliding or watching the sun sink into the sea. Settle down on the terrace of one of the beach pavilions, such as beach pavilion 19 that has been a household name here for years. From the Sky Lounge you can enjoy a spectacular view over the sea while enjoying a snack and a drink.
Het Zwin Nature Reserve
Just across the Belgian border you end up in a true bird paradise. Het Zwin is a coastal lagoon full of dunes, salt pans and salt marshes that is known as 'the international airport for birds'. Migratory birds use it as a resting place during their flight to the north or south. Here you can spot storks, cormorants or kestrels, among others.
