During the Pentecost weekend, on May 23, 24, and 25, 2026, Ostrich Farm Monnikenwerve on Hogeweg in Sluis will traditionally host its Open Weekend. During these festive days, the doors will be open from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM; admission and guided tours are free of charge throughout the weekend.

Naturally, the ostriches will be there—currently around 150 in total. From small chicks to impressive breeding animals, everything can be viewed up close.

The classic car rally in Groede is an atmospheric tour through the Zeeland countryside featuring vintage cars of various makes and eras. Starting in and around Groede, participants follow a varied route past picturesque villages, dikes, and polder roads.

The focus is not on speed, but on enjoying the drive, the nostalgia of classic vehicles, and the friendly atmosphere with relaxed stops along the way. It’s an ideal event for enthusiasts of automotive history and leisurely driving experiences.

Stroll along market stalls, enjoy the fairground, and be entertained by lively street theater, while the annual rowing race adds extra excitement.

A day full of adrenaline and fun, where powerful tractors compete to cover one hundred meters with heavy weights. Besides the tractor pulls, there is plenty to do for the whole family, with food, drinks, and entertainment on the grounds.

The annual music festival Weitjerock, held in the polder of IJzendijke, features a relaxed festival vibe and a diverse lineup of Dutch and Belgian artists across multiple stages. The event attracts thousands of visitors and combines live music, performances by both talented and established acts, and a cozy atmosphere in a beautiful, green setting.

In the streets of Groede, there are numerous stalls selling new goods and second-hand items. You’re sure to find a unique bargain here. Treat yourself to tasty snacks and delicious drinks from the food stalls and local hospitality venues. On the terraces, you can enjoy the lively atmosphere at the same time. There is entertainment for children and live music, so you won’t be bored anytime soon.

During this event, the port city of Vlissingen comes to life. Along the boulevard, there are over 400 stalls filled with goods and demonstrations by pitchmen. What makes this event unique is the endless row of stalls and the lively atmosphere.
In addition, there are dance performances, live music, and displays of traditional Zeeland costumes. From the water, a spectacular fireworks display can also be seen.

Come and enjoy a lively fair and flea market full of charming stalls and music! On this special day, the windmill ‘Nooit Gedacht’ will be operating, and the historic Mariakerk opens its doors for a unique look inside.

During the Visserijfeesten in Breskens, there is three days of fun and entertainment: a market and flea market along the harbour, fairground rides, food trucks, live music and party nights, harbour swimming events, the Lions Duck Race and a large raffle. A fun weekend for young and old in and around the harbour.

The entire weekend of August 8nd and 9rd, you can come to the beach of Cadzand, near the Brut sur Mer beach pavilion, to watch the kites performing tricks in the sea breeze. This promises lots of fun and a lively, cheerful atmosphere.
Many of the kites are homemade, some even made of paper, just like in the old days. The passionate kite flyers, who have built their kites by hand and come from near and far to the kite festival, proudly showcase their beautiful creations.
If you have children, make sure they bring their own kite. The “pros” are happy to help with launching them.

This summer, Knokke-Heist once again becomes the setting for the International Fireworks Festival. On 21, 23, 25, 27 & 29 August 2026, spectacular fireworks light up the evening sky above the beach of Knokke-Heist.

Film by the Sea in Vlissingen is an annual film and literature festival held in September at the CineCity Vlissingen cinema and at various locations throughout Zeeland.
During the festival, more than one hundred films from around the world are screened, including premieres, literary adaptations, and arthouse films. In addition to film screenings, there are also interviews with filmmakers, lectures, workshops, and award ceremonies. The festival is known for its combination of film, literature, and a relaxed festival atmosphere by the sea.
During this period, the city of Vlissingen transforms into a cultural meeting place where visitors can enjoy both cinema and the atmospheric coastal surroundings.
