Be sure to visit De Zwarte Polder, a remarkable nature reserve created after a historic sea breach. Its varied landscape of salt marshes, dunes and grasslands makes it a favourite destination for walkers and birdwatchers. Another highlight is Waterdunen Breskens, a unique nature reserve opened in 2022 where coastal protection, nature and recreation come together. Several walking routes lead you past creeks, birdwatching areas and scenic viewpoints overlooking the Zeeland landscape.
