Het Zwin Nature Reserve

Just across the Belgian border lies Het Zwin, a unique coastal nature reserve featuring dunes, salt pans and salt marshes. Often referred to as the "international airport for birds," it serves as an important resting place for migrating birds travelling between northern and southern Europe.

Keep an eye out for storks, cormorants, kestrels and many other bird species. A network of walking and cycling trails, together with several viewing points, allows you to experience this remarkable landscape up close.

Tip: Wear boots or waterproof shoes, as some paths can be wet or muddy.
