From Michiel de Ruyter to remarkable VOC treasures
Meet people whose lives were inseparably connected to the sea. The famous naval hero Michiel de Ruyter naturally plays an important role, but many other great and lesser-known naval heroes also have their place in the museum.
The muZEEum houses one of the largest collections of objects recovered from VOC ships. Admire plates, cutlery, cups, bottles, swords and silver and gold coins. These fascinating objects provide a glimpse into life on board and the long sea voyages of the past.
Enjoy the view over Vlissingen
During your visit, be sure to climb the 17th-century tower. From the top, you can enjoy an impressive view across the city and the sea.
